“I wanted to extend a thank you for a wonderful weekend at the AAPNA convention. All the presentations were very educational and the food was delicious. The weekend affirmed my commitment to Ayurveda. As a nurse, I am hoping I will able to assist in lobbying for the licensure of Ayurvedic practitioners. Ayurveda can stand alone and it can also be a wonderful complement to Western medicine.”

Dear Dr Shekar Annambhotla, Thank you for your comment on my face book posting of the recent speech I delivered at the Houses of Parliament, UK. I am aware of your work in the US and the wonderful cross-pollination of Ayurveda and Yoga you have been spearheading for several years now. Please accept my sincere congratulations. I very much welcome your support to create a deserved place for Ayurveda and Yoga in the world and please also feel free to count upon me should you like my involvement in your activities. Fortunately, I have had the best of Ayurvedic training, vedic upbringing combined with my research experience as a public health specialist from New Zealand. Now that I have moved to the UK and still very much involved in the world's largest study on women's health from Australia, I am able to connect with several influential people who are keen on promoting Ayurveda and Yoga. I truly believe that redefining Ayurvedic training to reflect its holistic model, training ayurvedic practitioners to deliver Ayurveda authentically and making it culturally relevant, building research capacity for Ayurveda and political engagement are the four key aspects we all need to be putting our energies into. I am grateful for having extensive experience in all these four areas and I am sure we can join forces to create a meaningful exchange between the UK and the US (of course, we can include Australia and NZ too). Thank you once again for your supportive words and I look forward to keeping our communication going. Hopefully, we will meet sooner than later. Kind Regards and Namaste,

Thank you Dr Shekhar Annambhotla for inviting me to be an advisor. It's a pleasure to join a prospective thinking organisation with a grand vision to create a worthwhile platform globally for Ayurveda and Yoga.

Ayurveda will make a major breakthrough in the 21st century. The 2014 Boone conference has provided the platform to achieve high goals. Though I am part of the organizing committee, I am being unbiased to state that AAPNA and its mission will flourish from this day onward.

You have done a great job in creating AAPNA. It's a great platform to know about other professionals working in the field of ayurveda and all the other spiritual sciences which the world has forgotten about. I just joined today, and I talked to Dr. Shekhar and got an opportunity to give a teleconference presentation in the coming month and get to know other people working in the field of ayurveda. I am really happy to be a part of the AAPNA family.

The AAPNA 2011 Annual Conference on Women's Health was a great platform for ayurveda professionals. The conference was very well organized. There were several papers presented by international speakers covering various topics in depth. Personally, it was a great honor to receive the "Charak Award for Excellence in Ayurvedic Teaching". It required a tremendous amount of work and organizing to make a conference of this level successful. The AAPNA team under Dr. Shekhar's leadership did a commendable job in making the experience smooth throughout the conference. Thank you for making alliance with Canadian Ayurveda Medical Association (CAMA). I look forward to work with you in promoting of ayurveda in North America. Wish you and AAPNA a great future.

It was quite an honor to share the stage with and speak after Amrit Desai Monday afternoon at the post conference. His presentation was very impressive especially his demonstration of Kalpabhati Breathing and Pratyahara. For my part, I felt the warmness and open mindedness of the audience and was able to present on the topic of NANO Yoga with ease and fluidity. The attendees were very gracious in their acceptance and had a few questions for me after the presentation. The post conference was delivered seamlessly, being very well organized. Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.

Dear AAPNA Family, This was my first time attending the AAPNA conference, and I must say it was worth traveling from Houston to Boston to attend the conference. The best thing I liked about the organization was the punctuality and the time management throughout the weekend. It was nice to see a common platform for all ayurveda practitioners and students gathering to learn from the speakers as well as from fellow participants. Thank you AAPNA for taking the initiative and helping ayurveda grow in a holistic way.

Thank you so much for your leadership in organizing our ayurvedic community and hosting a wonderful conference. Everyday Ayurveda was a bronze sponsor this year and we made a lot of great contacts with practitioners whom we can support with their businesses and prospective partner schools that we can work with to help increase their enrollment and help their students get the business support they need to succeed in their practices once they graduate. We look forward to sponsoring and attending next year’s conference in Los Angeles, CA!

AAPNA's 3rd international conference on women's health was an excellent conference with various outstanding presenters from throughout the world. It was very academic, covered a wide range of interesting topics and was exceptionally organized. Being a part of the conference every year, it is amazing and thrilling to see the exponential growth and success each year. I feel privileged to be a part of the AAPNA family. Its uniqueness in incorporating other holistic modalities is laudable. Looking forward to next year’s conference.

We had a wonderful ayurveda conference in Boston! It was a great pleasure and honor for me to present a paper and learn a lot from so many experts and scholars in ayurveda. My hearty congratulations to you for all your efforts in making it such an amazing event. More than a conference, it was a family meeting of ayurveda students, practitioners and all those who believe in this science. I take this opportunity to thank AAPNA for recognizing Kerala Ayurveda for its efforts in bringing education on authentic ayurveda in the US.

It was my great pleasure to witness such a wonderful conference. Excellent representation from more than 10 countries truly demonstrated the growing importance of ayurveda globally through AAPNA. This year, for the first time, we had two new additions to the program at the conference: panel discussions with experts and experiential workshops. Both these new additions were very successful and well received by the audience. All speakers and presenters were incredibly experienced in their respective topics and delivered the subject covering the depth and clarity right on the mark. The credit for this success goes to our President – Dr.Shekhar. I would specially like to thank him for providing the vision, direction, trust and empowerment and truly making this conference successful. At the same time, my sincere thanks goes to each member of my conference committee team for all their marathon efforts, fantastic collaboration, stupendous team work and demonstrated synergy which attributed towards making this conference a huge success. I eagerly look forward to our next conference in Los Angeles, CA, USA

Dr. Ashlesha Raut, MD (Ayurveda)

I would like to salute AAPNA for organizing such an amazing conference on Ayurveda in United States. Although my primary objective for attending this conference was to collect data for my survey study, it also refreshed my ayurvedic concepts and gave me a chance to meet great personalities in the field of ayurveda. I would like to thank all the participants for their participation in my survey study. I would also like to thank AAPNA for considering me as a member of the panel of experts and for appreciating my research work by Aryabhatta Award. AAPNA is doing a great job by creating such a wonderful platform for ayurvedic practitioners, scholars, and researchers from all over the world. I wish ayurveda and AAPNA grow by leaps and bounds.

What a memorable conference! I was both privileged and honored to be part of AAPNA's third international conference. Privileged because I got the opportunity to meet and network with my ayurvedic brethren and colleagues from all over the world, and also spend time with some stalwarts in the field of ayurveda. And honored because I felt we made important progress with this one event towards globalization of ayurveda, and I felt it was an honor to be part of this step forward. I would like to thank Dr. Shekhar for his stellar vision and perseverance, which of course is known to all who know him. But I also wish to acknowledge and thank all the dedicated AAPNA members who worked behind the scenes to ensure that everything was conducted in a smooth and effortless manner. I am looking forward to meeting most of you, if not all, in the LA conference and take ayurveda not one step, but many steps forward. Jai Ayurved and God bless AAPNA!!

Thank you for your extraordinary planning and implementation of the 2011 AAPNA Conference, and for providing all of us who attended a wonderful and gratifying experience. I found the panel of presenters to be highly qualified and informative. I also found the format in the conference room for the presenters to speak daily comfortable and organized. This was refreshing rather than having to make choices on which speaker to attend. Thank you for your most beautiful plaque given to AKASHA. I am sorry I was not present to receive it. It has been an honor to support AAPNA, and I look forward to contributing in the future to the growth of AAPNA

I have been in the ayurvedic industry now for 3 ½ years mostly on the academic side, along with products and services. In that 3 ½ years I have not had the fortune until now to be present with so many dedicated professionals of the ayurvedic community in the US. The conference itself was worthy of the participants' time in its professionally managed and run schedule, not to mention the speakers and the content they shared with everyone. The participants were all engaged throughout the conference and all of its presentations. The exchanges, personal and professional, were warm and sincere both in and out of the conference. Personally for myself, I was impressed and totally grateful for the opportunity to be present and add to the positive environment which was the constant energy of the whole conference. It was a much more cohesive group that valued a good discussion, respect for all points of views and a true love and respect for ayurveda. In my opinion, it is a most memorable event which encourages my attendance at future AAPNA conferences and inspires me to let others know about AAPNA. Lastly, your energy and making everyone feel at home, along with your personal interactions, really was a gift and also is a rarity. I am again truly grateful to have met Dr. Shekhar and gotten to know better the Ayurvedic community. Namaste.

Thank you for your vision and execution of that vision.

AAPNA's 3rd annual conference was an excellent overview of many interesting ayurvedic topics presented by world class experts of ayurveda. As a practicing integrative medicine physician, I was introduced to many useful therapies and also met a great many like-minded practitioners who share a similar vision to create the highest quality integrative healthcare for ourselves and patients. I am very proud to be associated with AAPNA and look forward to the next annual conference in Los Angeles, CA where I plan to present on the topic of Ayurvedic Weight Loss.

What an amazing conference! Out of all the conferences I have attended, this one stands out the most in my heart. The knowledge and expertise of the speakers, the passion of all the AAPNA organizers, especially Dr. Shekhar, and the consciousness of everyone present there makes me believe that ayurvedic medicine will become mainstream in the USA just like it has been in India for thousands of years. I feel fortunate to be a part of it and can't wait to see what the future will bring.

Thank you so much for organizing this amazing conference and inviting all the great speakers. It was like a specialized internship with so many masters and gurus. I am so thankful that I was able to attend the Boston Conference last week-end. Every second of this conference was educating and fulfilling. All the presenters were great teachers, speakers, doctors, or researchers. This conference was a success. I am looking forward to the conference next year in Los Angeles, CA.

There is a definitive and firm need of an organization of ayurvedic professionals in the US to be a part of the international movement to provide statutory status for ayurveda. There are many organizations which work in India and abroad as broad based organizations. AAPNA provides a legal platform for ayurvedic professionals in the US to have their voices heard and later can become a strong force in the global scenario for the promotion of ayurveda. It has its strong roots in India, too. I am very pleased to see the progress of AAPNA, and I am sure that the day is not far away that it will be the leader in the global promotion of ayurveda."

AAPNA embodies the true spirit of the ever evolving contemporary integrative ayurveda. Our goals should be to offer the best possible healthcare to our patients and clients with minimal risks & maximum benefits for their well-being and general health. The mission of AAPNA to bring together health practitioners who recognize the ancient, harmonious medical science of ayurveda in order to discuss and research these therapies is being realized by its weekly teleconferences and annual scientific meetings. Personally, I have learned a great deal from the world renowned medical expert members of AAPNA and look forward to sharing my expertise with AAPNA in the years to come. I encourage all who are interested in enhancing their health & learning ayurveda to participate in AAPNA's many activities. Furthermore, AAPNA's founding president, Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla, has a tremendous passion for teaching & sharing the wisdom of ayurveda. Our mission to ignite a community healing and wellness movement with classical ayurveda is fortified by AAPNA’s recognition and encouragement. I am very pleased to see that ayurveda is gaining fame all over the world and various US based organizations are actively making their efforts to flourish ayurveda. Although there are many organizations of complementary and alternative medicine in the US, AAPNA is the sole organization that is primarily focused on ayurveda. AAPNA is creating a large platform at a global level for the ayurvedic community by organizing conferences and seminars on ayurveda. I wish ayurveda should keep growing at this pace, and likewise various ayurvedic organizations, especially AAPNA.

Dr. Swaranjit K. Brar, B.A.M.S

I am honored to be affiliated with AAPNA. In such a short period of time, this association has shown a determined and decisive spirit of accomplishment. Today, we are living in a world that is parting from nature and simplicity. Due to this, the ancient wisdom of ayurveda is needed everywhere, by everyone, at all times. As an ayurvedic practitioner and yoga instructor I congratulate Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla for reaching people globally and spreading the knowledge of ayurvedic medicine. I work as a research scientist at New York University and am not currently practicing ayurveda in the US, but my primary research interest is ayurveda. Recently, I accomplished a research project on ayurvedic clinical trials. This accomplishment gives me immense pleasure, and I feel proud by making this small contribution towards my own profession. I congratulate AAPNA for organizing ayurvedic conferences and creating this platform to share and enhance our knowledge and skills.

I am proud to be associated with an organization like AAPNA. In addition to supporting ayurvedic professionals by CME and other support services, AAPNA has also taken the task to open a dialogue with practitioners of integrative medicine. The future of medicine will be a global system of medicine where all systems of medicine are integrated in a seamless manner to provide the best healing opportunity for a patient. Medical practitioners need open minds to accept the best practices in each system. I would support ayurveda to form the basis of such a system. AAPNA's vision with the leadership of Dr. Shekhar and others will form a platform to standardize ayurvedic education and licensing in United States.

Since 2003, I have had whispers about AAPNA's existence. They grew louder and were confirmed when I talked with AAPNA's founder and director, Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla. From that moment onwards, I always felt that AAPNA is an association that understands vaidyas, ayurvedic professionals, students, researchers, believers, seekers and all ayurveda lovers. I believe AAPNA will be the voice of ayurvedic science and profession not only in North America, but all over the world. I am very proud to be a part of AAPNA's vision to bring that ultimate golden time to ayurveda science and its profession through a mission of establishing regulation and licensing of ayurveda in USA. Bestowing 32 awards annually, free academic conference twice a month, a network of alliances with national and international organizations, annual international conferences on ayurveda, professional liability insurance for ayurvedic practitioners, online articles and research papers, and charitable services are the golden nuggets that AAPNA offers for all AAPNA members that will serve all ayurveda professionals in their ayurvedic journey. I am very blessed, delighted, charmed and honored to be in AAPNA as a professional member, a member of the academic board, and speaker. I always like to be a fan and flame for AAPNA. If you have also had whispers about AAPNA's existence, I would say don't delay; join AAPNA today for your benefit. Cheers to AAPNA's success.

This organization is working with a definite agenda towards the future generation of all people interested in ayurveda. AAPNA's programs are inspiring medical faculties in the US, UK and Europe, and Asian countries. It is my privilege and honor to be a part of AAPNA. AAPNA, an internationally recognized organization within a short period of time, has every potential to bring recognition and acceptance of ayurveda into the mainstream. During this paradigm shift in the health care system, we need organizations like AAPNA to build the future of medicine. AAPNA is spreading its wings globally, affiliating with other holistic practitioners, organizations acknowledging all other modalities. As the CFO of AshaJyothi USA, a non-profit organization supporting children in need, I am honored to collaborate with AAPNA. I appreciate AAPNA for conducting a one-day integrative medical camp for special needs children in India.

Richaritha Gundlapalli, MD, FAAP, CFO, Asha Jyothi

I understand the concern and appreciate the plan regarding registration and regulations for practicing ayurveda in North America. It is very essential to regulate ayurvedic practices by issuing licenses to practice for eligible candidates. This may be further regulated periodically through knowledge updating. Practicing any medical system deals with the intervention with human subjects and hence, besides theory, practical training is most essential. Individuals with a non-ayurvedic / non-medical background interested in ayurveda may still play a great role in community education and research in ayurveda. I compliment AAPNA's efforts in this endeavor

Dr. Ashwinikumar Anand Raut, BAMS, MD (Ayurveda)
Director, Clinical Research & Integrative Medicine, Medical Research Centre – Kasturba Health Society, Mumbai, India

The mission of AAPNA to serve the ayurvedic and yogic communities globally is truly visionary for all of us who are on the path of the knowledge of life and delving into the nature of the true Self. AAPNA addresses the universal state of consciousness emerging globally in that we are our brothers' keepers. How wonderful to see the idealism manifesting into reality. I am truly honored and privileged to be a part of the dream of Dr. Shekhar and AAPNA. May we continue to practice living in harmony with nature, the universe, and the Divine. May we continue to be the torch for the great mother of holistic health ~ Ayurveda. Swastha

The ayurveda community was in need of an organization to pull together practitioners, students and supporters under one umbrella. AAPNA fulfills this need. AAPNA enables those who understand the importance of ayurveda in today’s high-pressure society to come together - either through relevant education or to offer general support. Thank you for allowing me to join a community of such talented ayurvedic professionals. . . I am truly honored.

What is needed in contemporary systems of medicine today is the understanding that consciousness is primordial and that human physiology is an expression of that underlying pure intelligence. This knowledge is provided by Vedic medicine. AAPNA has as its mission preserving Vedic medicine in its purity to ensure that it will remain available to practitioners and patients as well as healthy people seeking longevity and enlightenment. AAPNA deserves, and needs, your support.

Ayurveda is already gaining popularity globally. But, as with any other profession, standardization is important in building trust and belief in ayurveda for folks in society, and to promote practice, education, and research in the field of ayurveda. AAPNA is an organization which can make it possible with the help of ayurvedic professionals around the world. Through AAPNA, we can create an awareness among the public and spread the knowledge of ayurveda to live a healthy life. I have attended the first two AAPNA conferences and several academic free conference calls. I have been with Dr. Shekhar on a trip to India where I studied and trained in advanced panchakarma therapies. We are entering a new era where the human spirit consciously experiences it's essence, bringing a true rebirth to the ancient wisdom of ayurveda and its true purpose, enhancing our perception and well being, while preserving a harmonious balance between the manifested and its source. I truly believe that AAPNA is achieving this daily by transmitting ayurveda's wisdom to the awakening western mind in it's purest form, joining this wave of both spiritual and scientific revolution happening now through ayurveda. Dr. Rucha Kelkar, BAMS. MPT

AAPNA has been moving forward strongly and consistently. This year's conference on women's health addresses the needs of a population who present with special needs due to childbearing, the aftermath of delivery, and the challenging job of raising a family in a world where women, to be on equal status with men, are also working stressful jobs outside the home. The gentle guidance and precepts of ayurveda will go a long way in serving women, and through women, reaching the whole family -- the conference is a very important one!

Genevieve Ryder
Consultant to the Light on Ayurveda Journal, MA, USA

I take great pride in being a part of AAPNA. Since AAPNA's beginnings in 2003, it has grown and come to be known as one of the largest organizations to promote ayurveda in the USA. It empowers and supports ayurvedic vaidyas with educational seminars, conferences, networking and allows us to be a part of the ayurvedic community. It also acts as a platform to connect with the ayurvedic community worldwide. I agree we need professional standards to practice ayurveda, and I fully support AAPNA in making this happen.

Sujatha Reddy
BAMS, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Mental Health Counselor, Heartland Wellness, New Albany, OH, USA

Something good and inspiring is always happening through the efforts of AAPNA. Educational conference calls twice a month bring timely information to my attention and provide a platform from which to network and find out about different ayurvedic practitioners, learn new skills, approaches, and perspectives. Access to these calls on a regular basis alone is worth the cost of membership. Besides these instructive conference calls, there is the yearly conference which brings together many esteemed doctors and practitioners of ayurveda to share knowledge. There is always a relevant theme to the yearly conference that applies to the work I do as a practitioner. The newsletters and website are informative. The energy of the organization and the focus on connecting people to each other, and empowering and encouraging the practitioners of ayurveda are most notable qualities of AAPNA. I can easily see AAPNA being one of the lead, if not the leading organization, to foster growth in ayurvedic medicine in the Americas in the next several years. AAPNA has a fresh, energetic quality that continually inspires our growing ayurvedic community.

Christine Tykeson

AAPNA’s national and international alliances with diverse groups offering several approaches to integrative and holistic healing make it a powerful organization in providing guidance and support to ayurvedic students, teachers & practitioners in the USA. Dr. Rammohan Rao, PhD

It is a privilege to be part of AAPNA, an organization that is dedicated to competency in ayurvedic practice, quality education, and the propagation of ayurveda in the US. AAPNA provides positive motivation and alliances that are always moving us towards light and knowledge. AAPNA is the organization that has been the most prominent in the push to propagate ayurveda globally. Under the capable leadership of Dr. Shekhar, the organization is now in the process of establishing a relationship with AYUSH, the Government of India’s department for scholarship activity and research. This collaboration will provide great support for ayurvedic students and practitioners in the US.

Dr. Jaya Gopal Parla, MD (Ayurveda)

AAPNA, since its inception, has carved its niche in the global map among the ayurveda community through its scientific outlook. It is heading towards its mission, bringing Indian healing tradition to its ancient glory and contributing to worldwide health concerns. The association raised visible platforms towards a universal purpose of knowledge dissemination through international seminars, workshops, and conference calls by dismantling boundaries and bringing scholars to a common plinth. It is indeed a matter of great pride to be associated with AAPNA.

Dr. Vandana Sandhir, MD (Ayurveda)

I have great admiration for its founder, Dr. Shekhar, who has always endeavored for equal success and opportunities for all his fellow professionals. AAPNA continues to develop and grow under his loving and competent guidance. Some great milestones have been achieved, but many more are to come. I am hopeful and confident that ayurveda and its members will flourish and establish new landmark successes in the US and all across the globe, in the very near future. I see AAPNA as the emerging international organization that will lead the movement for globalization and standardization of ayurveda worldwide. So let us all join hands, strengthen personal and professional bonds, and work and collaborate together towards the growth of AAPNA and ayurveda!

I am really happy to be an International Vaidya Member of AAPNA. Dr. Shekhar has a vision and a mission for his science that is ayurveda. Very few people believe that they owe a debt to the science they belong, and he has a faith in his science, which has brought this good person to this status. I really appreciate Dr. Shekhar’s work, which he is performing in the U.S.A. through AAPNA. The meaning of AAPNA in the Hindi language is "ours". That is what Dr. Shekhar is doing in the U.S.A. I personally wish him the best in the present and future. Dr. Shekhar, your work will prosper in the future, which will help to engrave the name of ayurveda as a medical science globally. AAPNA started as a discussion group of ayurvedic professionals in 2003 has now grown into an international organization uniting and integrating the ayurvedic as well as conventional health professionals, academic institutes & corporations. Today AAPNA is propagating and working toward legitimizing Ayurveda as a complete health care system. Despite the widespread acknowledgment, the US administration has not yet passed a national law concerning regulation of ayurvedic clinical practice. Consequently, there is no official regulation for the education programs and practice of ayurveda. This creates public confusion, since there is no standardization of the training of ayurvedic professionals, nor regulation of the import and sale of ayurvedic supplements. AAPNA can be and should be an important forum for this cause, and I am sure AAPNA will work hard to create an international network of excellence in research, education, training and clinical practice.

Dr. (Ayur) Mukesh D Jain,
International Clinical Director AAPNA & The Ayush Samiti, Chhattisgarh, India

I am very proud and honored to be associated with AAPNA. It is a great resource for the ayurvedic community worldwide. It is important that professional Ayurvedic organizations exist, with an international view, with firm connections with Ayurvedic groups in India, as well as sensitivity to the unique health needs and cultural forms existing in every country. AAPNA can function as a key global Ayurvedic organization. Its international ties, its willingness to work with a diversity of groups, its professional standards, and its dialogue with integrative medicine are of great value for such future work. Ayurveda needs a powerful Sangha or community of a global nature. AAPNA can be an important part of that manifestation. I am happy to be associated with AAPNA.
