Registered ayurvedic professionals are of various levels of training and clinical experience.

AAPNA is developing International Standards for Ayurvedic Education and Practice (ISAEP) where Ayurveda is not yet recognized and licensed.

These guidelines are based on a model of training used by:

These guidelines can be modified according to the governing regulations of individual countries.

AAPNA members can now avail themselves of the benefits of becoming a Registered Ayurvedic Professional. Registration is available for 2 years or 5 years or 10 years.

AAPNA Membership Registrations are –
2 years membership – $200
5 years membership – $400
10 years membership – $700

Registration Open For:

  1. Level 1: Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultants – 500 hours
  2. Level 2: Ayurvedic Practitioners – 500 hours (prerequisites of Level 1)
  3. Level 3: Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioners – 1000 hours (prerequisites of Level 1 & 2)
  4. Level 4: Master Ayurvedic Specialists – 2000 hours (prerequisites of Level 1, 2, & 3)

    1. Integrative Ayurvedic Physician – 500 hours (No Prerequisite required)
    2. Pancha Karma Therapists – 500 hours (prerequisites of Level 1)
    3. Ayurvedic Food & Nutrition Consultants – 500 hours (prerequisites of Level 1)
    4. Ayurvedic Herbalists – 500 hours (prerequisites of Level 1)
    5. Ayurvedic Pharmacists – 500 hours (prerequisites of Level 1)
    6. Ayurvedic Yoga Therapists – 500 hours (prerequisites of Level 1)

      6. Will be authorized to use the AAPNA logo on their websites, promotional literature, brochures, media, etc.
      7. Registered Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioners (R.A.A.P.) and Registered Master Ayurvedic Specialists (R.M.A.S.) can become mentors for Registered Ayurvedic Practitioners (R.A.P.) and Registered Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant (R.A.L.C.).

      Registration Requirements:

      • Must be a member of AAPNA.
      • 2 year registrants must complete 20 CE every 2 years.
      • 5 year registrants must complete 50 CE every 5 years.
      • Supporting documentation will be required.

      Registered Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant (R.A.L.C.)

      1. 500 hours of ayurvedic lifestyle training or)
      2. 250 hours of ayurvedic lifestyle training + 250 hours of allied ayurvedic health related training programs such as Yoga, Jyotish, Meditation, Panchakarma, Massage Therapy

      Registered Ayurvedic Practitioner (R.A.P.)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic practitioner training (or)
      2. 750 hours of ayurvedic practitioner training + 250 hours of allied ayurvedic health related training programs such as Yoga, Jyotish, Meditation, Panchakarma, Massage Therapy (or)
      3. 500 hours of ayurvedic practitioner training + 3 years of active ayurvedic practice(or)
      4. 500 hours of ayurvedic practitioner training + be a licensed health professional

      Registered Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner (R.A.A.P.)

      1. BAMS or equivalent ayurvedic training (or)
      2. 2000 hours of ayurvedic training + 1 year of active ayurvedic practice + 500 hours of allied ayurvedic health related training programs such as Yoga, Jyotish, Meditation, Panchakarma, Massage Therapy (or)
      3. 1000 hours of ayurvedic training with 3 years of active ayurvedic practice(or)
      4. 1000 hours of ayurvedic training + bachelor’s degree or higher + be a licensed health professional.

      Registered Master Ayurvedic Specialist (R.M.A.S.)

      1. MS-Ayurveda / MD-Ayurveda or PhD-Ayurveda(or)
      2. BAMS or equivalent ayurvedic training + 3 years of active ayurvedic practice(or)
      3. 3000 hours ayurvedic training + 3 years of active ayurvedic practice(or)
      4. 2000 hours of ayurvedic training + bachelor’s degree or higher + be a licensed health professional.

      Ayurvedic Specializations

      Registered Pancha Karma Therapist (R.P.K.T.)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic pancha karma training (or).
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic pancha karma training + 500 hours ayurvedic training / Licensed Massage Therapist (or).
      3. 500 hours of ayurvedic pancha karma training + 3 years of active ayurvedic clinical practice.

      Registered Ayurvedic Food & Nutrition Consultant (R.A.F.N.C.)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic food and nutrition training (or).
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic food and nutrition training + 500 hours ayurvedic training or allied health professional training / Licensed or Registered Dietician (or)
      3. 500 hours of ayurvedic food and nutrition training + 3 years of active ayurvedic clinical practice.

      Registered Ayurvedic Herbalist (R.A.H.)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic herbalism training (or).
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic herbalism training + 500 hours ayurvedic training (or).
      3. 500 hours of ayurvedic herbalism training + 3 years of active ayurvedic clinical practice.

      Registered Ayurvedic Pharmacist (R.A.Ph)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic pharmacy training (or).
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic pharmacy training + 500 hours ayurvedic training (or).
      3. 500 hours of ayurvedic pharmacy training + 3 years of active ayurvedic pharmacy practice.

      Registered Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist (R.A.Y.T)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic yoga training (or).
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic training + 500 hours yoga training (or).
      3. 500 hours of ayurvedic training + 200 hours yoga training + 3 years of active ayurvedic yoga practice.

      Registered Ayurvedic Spa Therapist (R.A.S.T)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic spa training (or).
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic training + 500 hours spa training (or).
      3. 500 hours of ayurvedic training + 200 hours spa training + 3 years of active ayurvedic spa practice.

      Registered Ayurvedic Aroma Therapist (R.A.A.T.)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic aroma therapy training (or)
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic training + 500 hours aroma therapy training

      Registered Ayurvedic Polarity Therapist (R.A.P.T.)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic polarity therapy training (or)
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic training + 500 hours polarity therapy training

      Registered Ayurvedic Marma Therapist (R.A.M.T.)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic Marma therapy training (or)
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic training + 500 hours marma therapy training

      Registered Ayurvedic Psychology Consultant (R.A.P.C.)

      1. 1000 hours of ayurvedic manasa shastra (psychology) training with clinical internship (or)
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic training + 500 hours western psychology training (or)
      3. 500 hours of ayurvedic training + 200 hours western psychology training + 3 years of active ayurvedic practice.

      Registered Vedic Astrologer (R.V.A)

      1. 1000 hours of Vedic Jyotish (Astrology) training (or)
      2. 500 hours of ayurvedic training + 500 hours Vedic Astrology training (or)
      3. 500 hours of Vedic Astrology training + 200 hours ayurvedic training + 3 years of active Jyotish Practice.

      Registered Vastu Consultant (R.V.C.)

      1. 1000 hours of Vastu – Sthapathya Veda (Architecture) training (or)
      2. 750 hours of Vastu – Sthapathya Veda (Architecture) training + 250 hours ayurvedic training
