    Testimonials

“I am very thankful to Judges of AAPNA 2010 for selecting me for International Vagbhata Award for Ayurvedic teaching. I am very humbled and grateful to the most prestigious organization AAPNA for bestowing this award to me. I am a founder and director of the Kamkus group of clinics in U.K, Germany and India. I am trained as a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and hypnotherapist. My devotion towards Ayurveda started in 1992 when I first time introduces the concept of Multidimensional Healthcare for the treatment of addiction at Turning Point (London). I was managing this project and our patron was Princess Diana. Addiction has been my specialized field, and we were not getting good success in treating the addicts by conventional methods. Fortunately, I managed to get the grant to introduce integrated approach to treat addiction, and we started using Ayurveda, Reiki, Colour Therapy, Acupuncture, Hypnotherapy, Music and mantra therapy and much more first time in UK. Ayurveda has given our patients a new lease of life and extremely good success rate. Our project became the most specialized project in UK. However, my interest towards Ayurveda grew further by reading Dr Chopra, Dr Frawley on Ayurveda and Mind and discussing with my team of ayurvedic physicians. In 1998, I introduce the concept of Multi-dimensional healthcare by starting my first private clinic in London Harley Street and Ayurveda was the main theme of our work. Eastern psychotherapy integrating Ayurveda and mind, astrology, mind body connective therapies and Vedic psychology are now my passion to promote the Wholistic health by teaching and promoting the ancient wisdom throughout the world. Dr Shekhar, I am very thankful to you and your team again for acknowledging my work and motivating me to work harder by bestowing this award to me. Thank you with Light and Love.”
    – Dr Diwakar Sukul PhD FRSM, Founder/Director, The Kamkus Clinic, London, United Kingdom

“Thank you so much for bestowing on me the 2010 AAPNA Parasara Award for Excellence in Jyotish (Astrology). After associating with this Divine-science for so many years, it is nice to be acknowledged. I appreciate all that AAPNA is doing to promote the deep-rooted medical system of Ayurveda as well as Vedic sciences all over the globe. I once again thank Doctor Shekhar Annambhotla & AAPNA for this honor and I wish them good luck for their endeavor to spread this ancient knowledge worldwide. Thank you again for this honor. Regards.”
    – Sundeep Koachar, Founder, Astro 4 You, New Delhi, India

“My heartiest thanks to AAPNA for their kind consideration & honoring me for the 2010 Vishwa Karma Award for Excellence in Vastu Shastra (Indian Architecture). I along with my colleagues at the Institute of Vaastu & Joyful living, New Delhi, appreciate Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla & all the members of AAPNA for all their all-out efforts in spreading our ancient Vedic heritage all over the world. Wishing this esteemed organization, a phenomenal growth with time.”
    – Pandit Gopal Sharma, B.E., Founder President, Institute of Vaastu & Joyful Living, New Delhi, India.

“I am deeply honored for receiving the Patanjali Award for Excellence in Yogic Teachings & Research in North America from such a distinguished organization as AAPNA. I have personally combined the practice of Ayurveda along with my yoga practice, which has greatly accelerated my progress in meditation over the past 50 years. In my personal sadhana I have regularly included Panchakarma, Ayurvedic diet, herbs and lifestyle. I have found it has highly accelerated Nadi Shuddhi detoxification when practiced in combination with pranayama, yoga postures and meditation. This combined approach of Ayurveda and Yoga has been the most co-creative method for healing and transformation. As a result, we are offering Ayurveda, Panchakarma and yoga at the Amrit Yoga Institute along with lifestyle training to encourage our students to add this practice to intensify their inner healing and transformative processes. Dr. Shekhar has made a special effort to bring yoga as highly complementary practice to Ayurveda. I especially appreciate Dr. Shekhar for recognizing my deep interest and experience and for inviting me on the advisory board of AAPNA and participating in such an auspicious event.”
    – Gurudev Shri Amritji, Founder, Amrit Yoga, Salt Springs, FL, USA

“Thank you AAPNA for the North America Charaka Award for Excellence in Ayurvedic Teaching. I am touched by your appreciation of my three decades of teaching & clinical work. I humbly dedicate this to my Yoga & Ayurveda gurus, my students & patients who continue to teach me every day. They increase my thirst for learning “How much we have to know, to know, how little we know”. I salute AAPNA’s wonderful work in bringing together Ayurvedic professionals to spread the wisdom and healing of Ayurveda.”
    – Dr. Vivek Shanbhag, ND(USA), MD(Ayu), BAMS, CYEd, Director, Goa Ayurved & Yoga Academy –Total Health Retreat, India.(GAYATHRI).

“I am very honored and filled with joy in receiving the AAPNA 2010 International Atreya Award. However, rather than the feeling of “joy”, the feeling of “astonishment” filled my heart. Thank you. This award was given to me to accommodate the efforts in bridging Japan, India, and America with the traditional system of medicine, Ayurveda. I was not able to receive this award without the help of the people around me. Furthermore, the Integrated Medicine Project could not be finished without them as well. The traditional Ayurveda is slowly expanding in the Japanese Integrated Medicine field. I am looking forward in Japanese technology contributing to the world of Ayurveda. Upon bridging Japan, India, and America, I always feel the world of Ayurveda is large and warm like the palm of Buddha. I would like to commit more to this world by traveling from places to places as if I were on the palm of his hands. Finally, I would like to thank Dr. Shanbhag and Dr. Shekhar upon receiving this award. NAMASTE.”

“I am humbled to receive the 2010 International Dhanwantari Award bestowed upon me by AAPNA. It is heartening because it is conferred for the purpose of ‘Excellence in Clinical practice’ and especially heartening because it is given by a strong and committed group of Ayurvedic professionals established in North America. Current activities and the proposed future plans bespeaks of the motivation of AAPNA of globalizing Ayurveda for the ultimate benefit of mankind. With this award my memories of 2007 have been endowed when I had received national award for ‘Excellence in Drug Research in Traditional Medicine’ conferred by a pioneering institute of India Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI). I have had a privilege of being active in ‘clinical practice’ as well as in ‘clinical research’ over the last more than two decades. At this juncture I remember all my Gurus who taught me Ayurveda, it’s clinical practice and approaches to create evidence through research, particularly Late Prof. S.N. Tripathi (BHU & Northern India School of Ayurveda), Late Vaidya D.S. Antarkar (Podar institutions & Western India School of Ayurveda) & Dr. Ashok D.B. Vaidya (Clinical Pharmacology & Integrative School of global medicine). This award commits me more to continue my path as a ‘Vaidya –Scientist’ on the footsteps of my Gurus. Finally I appreciate the vision, mission and untiring efforts being taken by board of AAPNA especially Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla, Dr. Pratibha Shah & Dr. Zide Mooni for globalizing Ayurveda & Vedic sciences.”

“I would like to thank the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America, its selection committee, and its founder and president (Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla) for honoring me and my work with an “Honorary Doctorate in Ayurveda” (Ayurveda Marthanda) on October 10, 2010 in Miami, Florida. I am coming to the United States from Hyderabad, India with the sole purpose of receiving this highest academic honor bestowed upon me by this prestigious organization. In the past twenty years I have worked tirelessly to introduce beneficial probiotics into Ayurvedic pharmacology and to conceive an entirely new concept of “Proyurveda,” designed to improve the overall health and longevity of the human populace. Even though I was a civil engineer by training, education and practice, I have long had a passion to improve upon existing, proven Ayurvedic principles and applications with the introduction of next-generation biotechnology. I am extremely honored and humbled to receive this honorary doctorate in the United States of America in the presence of the most revered and knowledgeable Ayurvedic professionals, researchers, practitioners, doctors and noblemen. The honor is inarguable proof that a commitment to excellence and altruism truly does not go unnoticed, and no amount of fiscal success can replace the personal satisfaction this honor provides me. I will forever honor this new designation given to me by AAPNA, and will strive to uphold the dignity and principles that its American and international members so diligently maintain. On a personal note, I would like to make special mention of your efforts, Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla, whose vision to create an Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America is a true achievement that requires courage and determination. I am extremely impressed and inspired by your ideas and ambition, and sincerely thank you for recognizing my efforts. I wholeheartedly wish and pray that under your unwavering guidance and leadership that AAPNA will grow into the preeminent Ayurvedic organization in the world, and that its continued support of Ayurveda and complementary alternative medicines shall continue for decades thereafter.”
    – Dr. D.R.K. Reddy, B.E., Founder, ADFAC, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India

“I have recently received the announcement from the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America (AAPNA) that I have been selected to receive the International Dharma Award for supporting and spreading the practice and science of Ayurveda worldwide. I would like to thank you, the selection committee, and the entire organization for this prestigious honor. As a firm believer in the Ayurvedic sciences and its philosophy, I have, for the past fifteen years, committed millions of dollars in research funding towards conducting clinical trials and to develop new, groundbreaking Ayurvedic formulas, drugs and nutritional supplements. At my own cost and expense, I have given Ayurvedic lectures – aimed primarily at allopathic doctors – around the world to promote the value and legitimacy of Ayurveda as a complementary and effective alternative medicine. Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla, as the founder, president and organizer of AAPNA, you have done a wonderful job of tirelessly promoting Ayurveda though international conferences and meetings. Without your vision, tenacity and thousands of hours of hard work, organizations such as AAPNA cannot be born and thrive in this world. You have earned my admiration and sincerest congratulations, and I thank you and AAPNA once again for recognizing my earnest efforts in promoting and supporting Ayurveda worldwide. “

    Testimonials

“Ayurveda is gaining popularity all over the globe. After Yoga, Ayurveda is the next new thing which people are hooked on to. The word Ayurveda can often be heard in spas, beauty product lines, restaurants, spiritual ashrams and of course Yoga studios. Every human being wants health, happiness, peace and love. In order to achieve this one has to take shelter of Ayurveda. Ayurveda, through its four ‘purusharthas namely dharma, artha, kama, and moksha, sets the guidelines to lead a healthy, happy, peaceful and long life/ deerghayu. As Ayurveda gets popular, Ayurvedic professionals have an important role to play. We have to make sure that people get to taste the real Ayurveda and not the superficial and incomplete parts of Ayurveda. We do not want Ayurveda to become a fad or fashion and fade away. We want Ayurveda to become an eternal part of people’s lives. Therefore Ayurvedic professionals from all over the world have to work together, share their experiences and work to standardize Ayurvedic education, products and practice. I am very happy to know that this stage has been set by AAPNA and the work in this direction has already begun. I would like to congratulate Shekhar Annabhotla, Pratibha Shah, Zide Mooni, and all members of AAPNA for the wonderful work being done for the promotion and propagation of Ayurveda. On behalf of JIVA AYURVEDA, INDIA, I would like to extend my support and best wishes. Lastly my sincere thanks to AAPNA for honoring me with Charaka International Award in 2009. “
    – Pratap Chauhan, Founder, Jiva Ayurveda, New Delhi, India

Also to let you know that the management and staff of Mahima Ayurveda is here at your beckon to support this divine mission in any way possible.”

The conference was a well-organized event with impressive presenters from the field of Ayurveda, keen in sharing their knowledge and experience with like-minded attendees who were eager to gain and absorb the profound knowledge shared by each. The cordial and relaxed atmosphere of the conference made it fun for all participants during the event. “We at the American University of Complementary Medicine are honored and thrilled to accept AAPNA’s prestigious 2009 Nalanda Award for “Excellence in Education” and feel quite gratified that you have recognized our humble efforts to provide intensive and comprehensive education in Ayurveda in America, similar to that which is available in India, through our clinical Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine (Ay.D.) degree program and our practitioner-scholar Ph.D. in Ayurveda degree program. We have been able to offer this education because of the unselfish contributions and diligent efforts of our esteemed Ayurvedic faculty from India, our staff, our administration, and our board of directors at this nonprofit institution. Offering the first and only state-approved doctoral programs in Ayurveda, we are proud to offer extensive hands-on clinical training through our 1,100-hour, required internship, which can be completed here on-site in our outpatient clinic in Beverly Hills and/or at various prestigious medical centers in South India. The faculty and administration are focused on presenting scientific papers at national and international conferences and publishing the same to bring awareness of Ayurveda to the greater health community, and we are working on partnership relationships with local medical schools to provide a venue for their Ayurvedic studies. Again, we are grateful for your organization and appreciation of what we do.” Namaste and with great appreciation.”
    – Kathryn White, Ph.D., President, American University of Complementary Medicine, Beverly Hills, CA 90210

“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for honoring me with the International Dhanvantari Award from your esteemed Ayurvedic Institute. I have received many Awards from various institutes in India, as well as abroad; however, this is the first International Dhanvantari Award that has been bestowed on me, and I really appreciate the same. For the last 47 years, myself and my wife, Dr. Sunanda, have been working in the field of Ayurveda and propagating Ayurveda all over the world for the last 27 years. This is Karmayoga – the way of life – adopted by us. On this occasion, I pray to Lord Dhanvantari that you as well as your institute will continue to work in the field of Ayurveda for practitioners, students as well as for common people all over the world.”
